Is set to use Airbus 320 aircraft on the Bangkok – Vientiane and Bangkok – Phnom Penh routes, they will take over from Thai smile Airways, starting from 15th August 2023. With twice daily flights on both sectors, this will add to 14 flights per week, Thai national carrier aims to support and bolster air travel between two destinations.

  • Air Asia ( You will need to check with Air Asia for their flights as they stop and start)

From 4th August 23 and long-awaited Air Asia has made its presence felt again in Lao PDR, they reinstated their direct flights between Vientiane and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and now continues to operate flights connecting Vientiane and Luang Prabang to Bangkok, enhancing he regional connectivity that is required.

AirAsia currently operates flights to Lao PDR (Laos). However, please note that flight schedules and routes can vary, so it’s always best to check directly with the airline for the most up-to-date information. You can visit the AirAsia website or contact their customer service for specific details on available flights to Lao PDR.

Update: Starting from December 2, 2023, until January 30, 2024, there will be new morning flights between Bangkok and Luang Prabang.

Bangkok (DMK) –  Luang Prabang: One direct flight departs daily at 14:10. Additionally, a new flight has been added on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays which departs at 08:05.

Luang Prabang – Bangkok (DMK): One direct flight departs daily at 14:10. Additionally, a new flight has been added on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays which departs at 10:00

Bangkok (DMK) – Vientiane: One direct flight departs daily at 06:25 and another at 13:05.

Vientiane – Bangkok (DMK): One direct flight departs daily at 08:05 and another at 14:45.

  • Vietnam Airlines

As of July 1st 2023, Vietnam Airlines, has resumed a three city route encompassing Vietnams capital, Hanoi and the UNESCO World Heritage towns of Luang Prabang in Lao PDR As well as Siem Reap in Cambodia.

Vietnam Airlines: Vietnam’s national flag carrier operates regular flights between major Vietnamese cities (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City) and Lao PDR’s capital, Vientiane.

  • China Eastern Airlines 

China Eastern Airlines is a widely-renowned airline that provides convenient and dependable flight services to domestic and international destinations. With a strong presence in the Asian region, the airline offers routes between Kunming and Vientiane. In a recent announcement, the airline confirmed that it will be launching direct flights between Vientiane and Shanghai, starting from October 29th, 2023.

Air Busan is a well-known budget airline based in South Korea and is a subsidiary of Asian Airlines. As of September 2023, the airline has resumed its Seoul-Vientiane service, and in October 2023, it has also resumed its Busan-Vientiane service.
