Tourists can for permits to travel overland from Inle Lake to Keng Tung, about 100 km from Laos via the Lao Myanmar Friendship Bridge spanning The Mekong. The 690-metre-long span links Keng Lat, about 100 km north of Tachilek Town in Shan State on National Road 4. On the bridge’s Lao side, you’ll reach Houa Khoum Village, about 15 km upriver from Xieng Kok in Luang Namtha’s Long District.
