On 18 February 2019, We Are Lao reported “Salavan Opens Secret Waterfall and Caves”. At the same time, Mark Jones, from Megaworldasia.com, began enquiring about Phouphasouk National Park, home of the attractions. The veteran Southeast Asian writer who seeks the next off-the-beaten-track destination had to get there.
Soon after, Mark headed to Salavan and inspected the park’s remote caves and waterfalls. By early March, he presented his findings in premium guidebook fashion, in which he details several caves, and paves the way for a Salavan visit.
