Mekong Eden Farm to Open Luang Prabang Co-op

The Mekong Eden Farm in Luang Prabang has announced it will open their Co-op in town on Saturday, 8 December, to sell fresh organic produce grown by small farms in the area and targeting local restaurants.
The Mekong Eden Co-op recently created a network of projects and small organic farms that are able to regularly supply fresh vegetables and fruits. The Co-op will also have a corner of dry produce from partnering projects.
The Co-op said that quantities will be small to moderate during the opening phase, but as the network grows, plans are afoot for opening a take-away on Tuesday and Saturday at 09:00. The Co-op will accept weekly orders only on Friday afternoon from 13:00-18.00 on a first-ordered, first served basis.
The weekly list of available produce with prices will be sent via the whatsapp group “Mekong Farm Coop” every Friday before 13.00. Please contact the Co-op to be part of the group. Produce will be also available at the Co-op.
The Co-op understands the challenges it will face in the early days, but they plan to adjust the supply chain to the demand. The objective is to offer the best service for purchasing of organic and permaculture food in Luang Prabang town from their network of certified producers.
The Co-op is supported by the German Development Cooperation’s (GIZ), Handle with Care project.
