Lao Airlines plans to launch regular flights connecting Vientiane and Luang Prabang with Kumamoto in southwest Japan in November 2019, to propel Laos into a Mekong Region travel hub.
This flight will be the first between the two countries, according to Japan Today. Lao Airlines plans to offer twice weekly service on board a 142-seat Airbus A320. The flight to Vientiane will take about 4.5 hours.
Lao Airlines President Bounma Chanthavongsa said his airline is preparing to file an application for the planned service with Japan’s transport ministry, according to the report.
