Champasak Province and the local Tavisub Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to undertake a feasibility study for developing a Culture Park in Pakse, according to the Vientiane Times.
The Culture Park’s aims to boost tourism development in the province on a 21-hectare site in the city, though the location was not made public in the Times report. However, the story did reveal much of the site is forested.
“This feasibility study includes nature and culture tourism sites, attractions, resort, sports centre, market, organic vegetable garden, hospital, and school and university campuses,” according to the report.
The MOU was signed on Monday between provincial Planning and Investment Department Deputy Director, Phanthakone Sihavong and Tavisub Group Director General Soukdala Noraseng.
Mr Soukdala expects the Culture Park development to reach 300 billion kip.
The MOU for the feasibility study is set for completion within six months.
