Immerse yourself in a rice farmer’s life at Living Land, a nine-family community located just outside of Luang Prabang amidst rice fields and mountains. With rice being planted all year round, you’ll find plenty to learn and do, including bamboo weaving, blacksmithing, and trying to plough behind Rodolphe and Susan, Living Land’s two buffaloes. The community also grows organic vegetables and flowers. Join a half-day program (8.30 or 14.00) that ends with a rice-based snack. Have a lunch of traditional local dishes at the Lookout Terrace. Overnights are available in an old granary. Booking is required, and transportation by tuk tuk can be provided. Proceeds support education.
