Savannakhet Accommodation

Savannakhet has unlocked the doors to almost 6,000 rooms at a range of accommodation and prices. Most of the 200-plus establishments, some in refurbished French colonial buildings, are in sprawling Savannakhet Town. You’ll find guesthouses, hotels, and resorts in tree-lined neighbourhoods, around the old market, along the Mekong, and in the serene outskirts. While many cater to Asian guests, plenty attract Westerners with staff that speak several European languages.

At the upper end, you’ll find 4-star luxury at a handful of resorts and hotels for $50-175. Expect all the extras including fully wired and sizeable rooms and a choice of dining outlets cushioned in style. Some have swimming pools and one has a casino with Asian games.

Hunting for a reasonably priced room with some creature comforts and good service in a calm setting? You’ll find plenty along the main roads, and many feature sizeable rooms with all the trimmings and large bathrooms with tubs, alongside facilities like swimming pools, saunas, and spas.

Budget travellers simply seeking a place to stay will find smaller rooms with most amenities and a modest restaurant for $15-25. Some are in the downtown area while others offer garden settings in a more residential backdrop. Standard guesthouse rooms with a fan in town and throughout the province generally cost around $10 per night.
