Mekong Elephant Park
The Mekong Elephant Park sits on the Mekong Riverbanks opposite Pakbeng Village and is a non-riding elephant preservation sanctuary. The park offers visitors the chance to discover elephants in spectacular natural surroundings. It is open daily from 11:00 to 16.30, and allows visitors to set off on a journey with friendly giants and assist to their daily life: bathing, feeding…and much more. Choose between two zip-line courses or grab an 'adventure pass' that includes both. Nahm Dong Park features a five-station 200-metre Tree Top Walk obstacle course and an 800-metre zip-line, which adds a station and sends you soaring through the air. The courses cross a rope suspension bridge 50 metres above a waterfall. Nahm Dong is located 10 km from town near Ban Xieng Mouk Village.

Immerse yourself in a rice farmer’s life at Living Land, a nine-family community located just outside of Luang Prabang amidst rice fields and mountains. With rice being planted all year round, you’ll find plenty to learn and do, including bamboo weaving, blacksmithing, and trying to plough behind Rodolphe and Susan, Living Land’s two buffaloes. The community also grows organic vegetables and flowers. Join a half-day program (8.30 or 14.00) that ends with a rice-based snack. Have a lunch of traditional local dishes at the Lookout Terrace.
