From Bangkok
Choose from six direct daily flights among five airlines, with departures throughout the day. Most airlines leave from Suvarnabhumi International Airport (Bangkok International), while Thai AirAsia flies from Don Muang International Airport. All airlines land at Vientiane’s Wattay International Airport.
Lao Airlines offers two daily flights from Suvarnabhumi. QV 442 departs at 09:35 and arrives at 10:35. QV 446 takes off at 20:30 and lands at 21:30.
Bangkok Airways’ PG 493 takes off every day from Suvarnabhumi at 09:15 and lands at 11:00.
Thai Air Asia flies daily from Don Muang. FD 1040 departs at 12:50 and arrives at 14:00.
Thai Airways International offers daily service from Suvarnabhumi. TG 574 leaves at 19:35 and arrives at 20:45.
Thai Smile, a Thai Airways subsidiary, offers daily flights. WE 570 (TG 2570) departs Suvarnabhumi at 11:20, and lands at 12:30.
Thailand to Luang Prabang

From Bangkok
You can pick one of a few direct flights from Bangkok to the UNESCO World Heritage City. Three airlines offer daily departures in the morning and afternoon, while a fourth flies five times a week. Most airlines leave Bangkok from Suvarnabhumi International Airport (Bangkok International), while Thai AirAsia flies from Don Muang International Airport. All flights land at the Luang Prabang International Airport.
Lao Airlines operates QV 634 from Suvarnabhumi five days a week (1, 3, 5, 6, 7). The flight departs at 10:25 and arrives at 12:05.
Bangkok Airways offers two daily flights from Suvarnabhumi to Luang Prabang. PG 941 departs at 10:05 and arrives at 12:05. PG 945 departs at 14:45 and arrives at 16:45.
Thai Air Asia’s daily FD 1030 departs from Don Muang Airport at 14:00 and arrives at 15:20.

From Chiang Mai
Lao Airlines offers four weekly flights (1, 3, 5, 7) from Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang. QV 636 departs at 15:30 and arrives at 16:30.
Thailand to Pakse/Savannakhet
Go straight to Pakse and Savannakhet from Suvarnabhumi International Airport (Bangkok International) on one of four flights a week.
From Bangkok
Lao Airlines’ four weekly flights (1 3 5 7) on board QV 224 take off from Suvarnabhumi International Airport at 12:50 and stops at Savannakhet at 14:20. It then departs for Pakse at 15:00 and lands at 15:30. Passengers going to Pakse do not deplane at Savannakhet.
From Vietnam
Vietnam to Vientiane
Fly directly to Vientiane from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. You’ll find daily and regular weekly flights. Vietnamese and Lao time are the same.
From Hanoi
You can catch a direct morning or afternoon daily flight from Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport to Wattay International Airport in Vientiane.
Lao Airlines offers one daily flight. QV 312 departs at 16:40 and arrives at 17:50.
Vietnam Airlines operates VN 921 every day. It takes off at 09:55, and lands in Vientiane at 11:05.
From Ho Chi Minh City
You’ll find two flights from Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport including a daily flight. Both make brief stops before continuing to Vientiane. Total travel time is about 3.5 hrs.
Lao Airlines flies three days a week (2, 4, 6). QV 516 departs at 12:00 and arrives at Pakse at 13:35. Passengers continuing to Vientiane, stay on board for the 14:20 departure, which lands at 15:35.
Vietnam Airlines offers a daily flight via Phnom Penh. VN 920 takes off at 16:00 for the one-hour flight to the Cambodian capital. Passengers continuing to Vientiane, stay on board for the 18:00 departure, which lands at 19:25.
Vietnam to Luang Prabang
You can fly twice a day from Vietnam's capital to Luang Prabang
From Hanoi
Two direct daily flights depart Hanoi’s Noi Bai International for Luang Prabang.
Lao Airlines offers daily service on board QV 314. Flights depart at 18:50 and arrive at 19:50.
Vietnam Airlines’ VN 931 takes off every day at 11:40 and arrives at 13:00.
Vietnam to Pakse
The skies are now open between Ho Chi Minh City and Pakse in Southern Laos
From Ho Chi Minh City
You can hop on a 90-minute flight to Pakse International Airport at Tan Son Nhat International Airport three days a week.
Lao Airlines operates three flights a week (2, 4, 6) on board QV 516 that departs at 12:00 and arrives in Pakse at 13:35, before continuing to Vientiane. Passengers going beyond Pakse do not deplane.
From Cambodia
Cambodia to Vientiane
Fly directly to Vientiane from Phnom Pehn and Seam Reap with a stop in Pakse on the way. Cambodian and Lao time are the same.
From Phnom Penh
Jump on a direct daily flight from Phnom Penh International Airport to Vientiane.
Vietnam Airlines offers a daily flight from Phnom Penh to the Lao capital. VN 920 departs at 18:00 and arrives at 19:25.
From Siem Reap via Pakse
Lao Airlines offers two flights a week (2, 7) on QV 512, which take off at 10:45 and arrive in Pakse at 11:45. The flight continues to Vientiane, arriving at 13:55.
QV 514 flies three times a week (1, 3, 5) from Siem Reap to Pakse, leaving at 14:40 and arriving at 15:40. This flight continues to Vientiane, arriving at 17:45.
Passengers going beyond Pakse do not deplane.
From Singapore
Singapore to Vientiane & Luang Prabang
Scoot flies three times a week (1, 4, 6) from Changi Airport to Luang Prabang and continues to Vientiane . The 3-hour flight, TR 350, departs Singapore at 09:00, and arrives at Luang Prabang at 11:00. After a stop, the flight reaches Vientiane at 13:00. Passengers going to Vientiane do not deplane.
From Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur to Vientiane
