1. Search engine(s) listing: WeAreLao.com offers search engines for tour operators, travel agents, accommodation, and airlines. The listings in the results include a picture/logo, short description, linked contacts, and direct link to your site and email.

2. Priority ranking on search engine results: Ranking on results is based on Membership category.

3. Direct link picture advertisement on page(s): One of WeAreLao.com’s USPs is direct link picture advertisements to your site. Your advertisements appear on individual pages in a format similar to our search engine results. As each of the hundreds of pages attracts a specific type of traveller, you can choose on which pages you want to appear, to reach your target market. The advertisements includes a picture/logo, short description, linked contacts, and direct link to your site and email.

4. Priority ranking on direct link picture advertisements: Ranking on advertisements is based on Membership category.

5. Post on We Are Lao social media pages/groups. We Our Lao hosts pages and groups on Facebook, Linked In, and You Tube. We Are Lao Members are encouraged to post on these social media channels. Please remember, each page or group has guidelines for posts.  

6. News & Events blog post(s) w/distribution: The News & Events blog is for press releases, original news articles, event announcements, and other newsworthy items. We reserve the right to edit the contributions. These will be distributed as outlined below. If you need assistance in creating a News & Events blog, please contact You Are Lao.

7. Travel Tales blog post(s) w/distribution: The Travel Tales blog is for original travel articles that are about, or include, the Member. These can be contributed by a blogger you engage or by We Are Lao’s blogger at You Are Lao. We reserve the right to edit the contributions. These will be distributed as outlined below.

8. Deals blog posts w/distribution: We Are Laos wants to feature special deals on this blog. This can include a graphic and text or just the graphic. These will be distributed as outlined below. If you need assistance in creating a Deal blog, please contact You Are Lao.

9. Link to We Are Lao: Members are encouraged to link WeAreLao.com to their site. For information on linking to WeAreLao.com using our logo, please visit Link to We Are Lao. 

10. Newsletter inclusion: We Are Lao distributes at least two newsletters a month. These highlight the latest We Are Lao blogs and news items about Lao tourism and the website. The newsletter format for inclusion may or may not have a photo, and will have the headline and lead text that is linked to the article/blog’s origin, including your website.

11. Newsletter inclusion priority: As the newsletter is limited for space, inclusion and positioning of a newsletter item is based on Membership category and newsworthy content.

12. We Are Lao press release inclusion: We Are Laos frequently writes news and journalistic articles for travel trade publications and posting on the site’s News & Events blog. These articles often require insights and quotes from Lao tourism and hospitality experts. Members in the participating benefit categories will receive priority when We Are Lao seeks opinions and observations presented in these articles. 

13. We Are Lao press release inclusion priority: Inclusion is based on Membership category and newsworthy input.

14. Discounted representation at trade events. We Are Lao plans to participate in trade shows, depending on demand from the We Are Lao Community. Members, who wish to be represented, will pay their cost share, while non-members will be charged the market rate. 

15. Discounted participation at We Are Lao events: We Are Lao occasionally organizes events that may require attendance or participation fees. In these cases, Members will be offered a discount from the published rate.

16. Access to We Are Lao promotional materials: We Are Lao occasionally publishes printed marketing materials. Members can access these, though quantities will be limited.

17. Priority participation on We Are Lao Fam trips: We Are Lao occasionally organizes familiarisation trips for travel agents and the media. Members in qualifying categories will receive priority for inclusion in these trips.

18. Priority advertising on We Are Lao marketing materials: We Are Lao’s marketing and promotional materials will provide space for sale to include Member’s logos and other forms of exposure. Members in qualifying categories will be given priority for inclusion and placement.   

19. Connect to tourism and development partners: If you have a tourism business in a province where donor agencies and other development organizations have projects, We Are Lao will do our best to connect you. 

20. Exposure on We Are Lao’s ongoing marketing campaign: We Are Lao is an ongoing marketing campaign for Lao tourism. To us, every year is Visit Laos Year. We continually roll out the We Are Lao Community’s new products, promotions, and achievements alongside valuable news items via direct emails and over social media channels. Qualifying Members will receive priority in facets of the ongoing campaign.

Distribution

Every communication’s underlying goal is to get somebody to do something. We Are Lao sees communication distribution from a cost-per-valuable eyeball view. Audiences vary from Member to Member and among blogs, articles, and other communications. We Are Lao targets the audience – travel agents, tourists, decision makers – valuable eyeballs – who will most likely to act, as well as visit the site.

We Are Lao targets very distinct markets: the travel trade, tourists, the media, interest, and country. These groups are categorized into lists for providing and distributing communications. Algorithms may work for mass market communications, but We Are Lao pays close attention to the niche demands that Members have. Your voice must cut through the clutter and be clearly heard. We Are Lao mixes conventional methods with a more individual approach using a range of media and techniques suited for Lao tourism and our needs.

We Are Lao began life in 2018 with a refined database approaching 10,000 travel trade decision makers. Since our pre-launch in 2017, our subscriber base has grown, adding tourists to our categorized lists. We Are Lao uses this database to directly send your message in newsletters, website updates, appropriate blog posts, and other communications listed in Membership Benefits.

“Use social media; don’t let social media use you.” Social media is the Wild West of communication. It is not marketing’s magic pill, but it is a necessary part of the marketing mix. Our Facebook, Linked In, and You Tube pages and groups offer good, cost-effective exposure platforms for Membership Benefits. We Are Lao uses these channels, with a growing number of followers, to send your message to the right crowd. Terms

Payment: Full payment is due 30 days after posting and approval of search engine (#1) and picture advertisement (#3) listings. You will receive a 10% discount off the Membership fee if you pay within two working days after posting and approval of listings and advertisements. The above published rates are valid for Memberships paid for by 31 December 2018.

Members are responsible for providing We Are Lao with the required material in a timely manner to make the most of their benefits. We Are Lao is not responsible for late or unusable materials that are not being posted, or for Members not using all their annual benefits. These benefits are not transferable and cannot be carried over to your following Membership year.

If your payment is late, We Are Lao reserves the right to revoke your Membership and remove your posts and listings. If you wish to withdraw your listings and posts, you must give We Are Lao 30-day’s notice. Listings and advertisements will be removed if you end or do not renew your Membership. If you wish to end your Membership within 60 days of joining, you are entitled to 100% refund. If you wish to end your Membership within 180 days of joining, you are entitled to 25% refund.
